When it comes to choosing a color that compliments your skin, it is less about your actual complexion and more about its undertones - whether your skin has hints of blue and pink, or yellow and peach, for example. All of these subtle hues can be categorized into either warm or cool undertones.

Do you look better in silver or gold? Which metal really awakens your complexion and makes you look the most radiant? If your answer is silver, you probably have more cool tones. If it is gold, then you have warmer tones.

Women with blue, green or grey eyes, along with hair that has blue, purple or ash undertones are typically of a cool complexion. Women with brown, green or hazel eyes with hair that has red, gold or yellow undertones will usually have warm-toned skin.
